About AMN Medical Training
AMN Medical Training was founded in 2007 by Alison
Neave who retired early in order to set up her own First Aid Training
business.
Alison started her medical career in the Queen Alexandra’s
Royal Navy Nursing Service as a pupil nurse. On leaving the Navy
she went to work for the N.H.S. and expanded her medical knowledge,
working in various Hospitals, including Queen Victoria Burns Unit
and as a District Nurse. Alison then went to work for a major Airline
in their Medical Centres and finally as an Executive Aviation Medical
Trainer. It was here that she discovered her ability to pass on
her wealth of experience and knowledge. She enhanced these skills
by gaining a Certificate in Education and a Bachelor of Arts Honours
Degree in Educational Management.
In August 2006 Alison was also instrumental in developing a successful
First Responder scheme in her local Village. This voluntary organisation
is supported by South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) and
involved Alison regularly training 24 enthusiastic Villagers as
First Responders. She also attends regular Committee Meetings and
acts as the main link between the Village and SECAmb.
Alison was made the SECAmb ‘Responder Team Leader of the
Year 2007’ and ‘Responder of the Year 2008’. The
Team she leads is used as a model for other Community Responder
Groups in Surrey, Sussex & Kent.
Initially working locally Alison soon discovered a niche in the
market to develop a more personal and fun way of teaching first
aid to schools, colleges, care homes, small businesses & holiday
camps. Alison has the ability to design a course which suits the
clients needs and can add subjects if necessary.
Just recently, due to her continued success, Alison gained Health
& Safety Executive approval to run 4 day First Aid at
work & the 2 day re-qualification
courses.
As part of this development Alison has engaged her own assessors
and additional trainers. The focus on her team selection is quality.
AMN Medical Training only uses trainers who have medical and teaching
backgrounds.
South East Coast Ambulance Service has engaged Alison to become
an Associate Trainer for the organisation and she continues with
her passion to promote the availability of defibrillators in the
community (Public Access Defibrillators).
Alison is accredited by West Sussex County Council as an Adult
Education Tutor and is registered with the Institute for Learners
(IFL).
AMN Medical Training has recently moved to North Devon. However
training will also continue in Surrey & Sussex due to the successful
client base in this region.
